McNally has a long tradition in providing second language and bilingual education opportunities to our school community. Historically, we have been a leader in EPSB's Mandarin Bilingual program, and have also hosted strong French and Spanish second language programs.
McNally offers Chinese, French, and Spanish second language courses. We are excited to continue building our French Language Pathways targeted towards students continuing in FSL 9 or who are leaving their French Immersion or Francophone programs.
Chinese 10-20-30 3Y/IB
The Chinese Language & Culture Three-Year (3Y) and IB Mandarin (ab initio) programs are designed for students who have little or no previous experience in the Chinese language.
Students in this program will learn foundational and conversational Chinese through a variety of listening, speaking, reading and writing activities.
Students will also acquire the knowledge, skills and attitudes to be effective global citizens, through the exploration of modern and traditional Chinese culture.
Students with previous Chinese language experience may be placed in higher level classes.

Spanish 10-20-30 3Y/IB
The Spanish Language and Culture Three-year (3Y) Program and IB Spanish (ab initio) programs are for students who are beginning their studies of Spanish language and culture in high school.
Students will have an opportunity to learn basic conversational Spanish through a variety of listening, speaking, reading and writing activities.
Students will also acquire the knowledge, skills and attitudes to be effective global citizens, through the exploration of the cultures of the Spanish-speaking world.
Students with previous Spanish language experience may be placed in higher level classes.
