The Academy at King Edward High School Program (offered at McNally)
The Academy at King Edward (AKE) High School program is a district site that offers specialized programming for students with learning disabilities in Grades 2 to 12. In small classes (typically 12 to 14 students per class), students with learning disabilities are taught to understand their learning strengths and challenges and to develop strategies that allow them to become lifelong learners. Students also take options and other courses within McNally's high school programming.
Parents, students, and staff work collaboratively to develop student confidence, increase resiliency, and achieve academic and social growth for students. The programming provides students with opportunities to gain control of their learning, to develop skills and compensatory strategies, and to improve academic success as responsible and involved members of school and community.
We believe in giving students opportunities to gain control of their learning, develop strategies to overcome challenges, achieve academic success, and demonstrate citizenship.
The Academy at King Edward High School is located on the 2nd floor of McNally School. Our AKE students are also TIGERS and both schools are thankful for this successful partnership!
